A Whale's Powerful Tail

A Whale's Powerful Tail

When God made whales, He took great care to give their tails a special flare!

Did you know that a whale's tail is called a fluke? Whales use their fluke to steer when they're moving through the water. Their tails are extremely powerful and help them dive and swim.

Interestingly enough, whales move their tails up and down unlike fish such as sharks, who move their tails side to side. The blue whale has the largest fluke in the world!
